Contingent upon funding, Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Palmdale, CA based Operations & Sustainment (O&S) Fleet Maintenance Manager for a global program based out of Palmdale, CA The O&S Maintenance Manager will organize, analyze, and direct all aspects of program maintenance and associated logistics.

In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Program fleet maintenance at domestic and overseas locations.
  • Direct customer interface daily.
  • Direct site manager interface daily.
  • Quality and mission assurance.
  • Standardized training of personnel.
  • Fleet readiness, upgrades, and analysis.
  • Communication with Program Management and IPT leadership.
  • Complex and dynamic problem resolution.
  • Strategic maintenance and upgrade plans development.
  • Fleet contingency plans development.
  • Mobilization, deployment, and retrograde of program assets.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the maintenance schedule and technical performance of company programs and subsystems. The selected candidate will serve as primary customer contact for program fleet maintenance readiness and upgrades. Monitor technical performance and provide supplier and IWO oversight. The selected candidate will establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program fleet maintenance problems, and yields solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree at least 9 years of experience with a background in aviation maintenance, maintenance planning, execution, and training or a Masters Degree in at least 7 years of experience with a background in aviation maintenance planning, execution, and training.
  • Active DOD Active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed and up to 10% of travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in STEM or the field of aviation.
  • At least 15 years of experience in aviation maintenance planning, execution, and training.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing large organizations (20+) with multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Experience managing highly technical projects which have delivered critical/complex hardware and/or capability to customers.
  • Military experience leading tactical and operational teams with increasing levels of responsibility,
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed and up to 50% of travel.
  • Ability to understand new technologies and help expand new business opportunities.

Primary Level Salary Range: $146,600.00 - $219,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
