L.J. Smith Stair Systems, part of NOVO Building Products, is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Operations Support Specialist to help keep our warehouse and manufacturing operations running efficiently.

This is a hands-on position that combines warehouse operations, inventory management, production planning, and administrative support. If you enjoy problem-solving, working with a team, and taking ownership of daily operations, this could be a great opportunity for you!

What You'll Do

• Support daily warehouse and distribution operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and production scheduling.
• Coordinate manufacturing schedules, production work orders, and value-added activities to support efficient production.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, product movements, and inventory adjustments.
• Create, process, and receive purchase orders and warehouse transfers.
• Coordinate special-order inventory requests with other L.J. Smith locations.
• Prepare production reports, monitor activity, and maintain scheduling records.
• Assist with product quotes, cost calculations, and communication with customer service teams and product specialists.
• Pick and prepare customer orders using order pickers, reach trucks, and forklifts.
• Deliver customer orders using a company-provided non-CDL delivery truck.
• Provide guidance and support to warehouse employees and serve as backup to the supervisor when needed.
• Communicate with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve issues and meet customer needs.
• Follow company safety policies, standard operating procedures, and inventory accuracy requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and warehouse organization.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications: What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to meet applicable DOT requirements for operating a non-CDL company delivery truck.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required powered industrial truck (PIT) training and certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to perform both administrative and hands-on warehouse responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, distribution, or inventory management.
• Experience with manufacturing scheduling, inventory systems, or warehouse management systems.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Experience in millwork, woodworking, or building materials distribution.

Physical Requirements

This position requires

• Standing, walking, reaching, grasping, bending, kneeling, and operating warehouse equipment throughout the shift.
• Lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds independently.
• Handling 75–100 pounds with assistance.
• Working in warehouse environments with seasonal temperature changes and exposure to wood dust.

Travel: No regular travel required. Local customer deliveries are part of the position.
