Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced Operations Support Manager to oversee the national delivery of soft services for a key long-term client.

In this role, you will manage multiple service streams, including cleaning, waste management, hygiene, gardening, and other soft services, ensuring all contractual KPIs are met and service quality is maintained. Reporting to the Account Manager, you will work closely with national teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable services.

This role is ideal for someone who is organised, adaptable, and enjoys working collaboratively while taking a proactive approach to improving operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of all soft services nationally, including cleaning, waste, hygiene, garden maintenance, furniture, and stationery
  • Manage contractor training, vetting, and compliance, ensuring safety and security standards are maintained
  • Conduct site audits and inspections, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting performance reviews
  • Maintain cleaning and soft service schedules, PPMs, and reporting to meet operational and client requirements
  • Monitor stock levels and implement cost-efficient procurement practices
  • Manage incidents, investigations, and risk mitigation in line with safety and operational policies
  • Lead initiatives to improve sustainability outcomes, including environmentally friendly products and zero-waste strategies
  • Analyse operational and financial data to inform decisions and drive service improvements
  • Support national travel to ensure consistency and quality of service across sites

Key Objectives

  1. Deliver Contractual Excellence: Ensure all KPIs and service standards are consistently met, while maintaining compliance with BGIS systems and policies
  2. Financial and Account Performance: Monitor budgets, purchase orders, and invoices to optimise cost management and minimise exposure to abatements
  3. Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to support operational success
  4. Team and Compliance Leadership: Foster collaboration, compliance, and a culture of accountability across the national vendor network

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Proven experience managing large-scale soft-service portfolios in facilities, property, or operations management
  • Strong financial and budget management skills
  • Experience managing national vendors and contractors, including performance and compliance
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyse operational and financial data to support decision-making
  • Experience in coordinating audits, risk management, and HSEQ compliance

Desirable

  • Previous experience in aviation or transport sectors
  • Experience in sustainability initiatives and environmental management

Workplace Flexibility

This role is based at Mascot Airport, with a hybrid arrangement of 4 days on-site and 1 day working from home post probation. Regular interstate travel will be required to support national service delivery.
