Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for an Operations Support Generalist to work with our Operations team in Easton, MD.

Operations Support Generalist (EHS Focus) responsibilities include

  • Ensures compliance with legal requirements for regulated substances in the laboratory, OSHA Standards, RCRA Regulations, as well as local, state and federal air and wastewater regulations
  • Reviews company policies and procedures related to chemical hygiene and assesses compliance of the company with the industrial hygiene plan
  • Performs hazard evaluation for new chemicals and determine proper personal protective equipment for use with hazardous materials and assesses need for exposure monitoring
  • Ensure hazardous materials and supplies are properly labeled with hazard labels and other necessary paperwork/documentation is posted upon receipt
  • Coordinates respirator fitness and fit training. Performs right-to-know, safety, emergency procedure and chemical hygiene training.
  • Schedules and coordinates routine inspections (elevator, sprinkler/fire system, etc). Conducts routine inspections of eye wash stations, emergency showers, fume hoods, and fire extinguishers.
  • Schedules and coordinates hazardous waste pickups.
  • Maintains safety, respiratory protection, and chemical hygiene and hazardous waste disposal records
  • Performs routine safety inspections for the site.
  • Performs accident investigations
  • Ensures appropriate cleanup of chemical spill events
  • Writes and distributes compliance reports to local, state and federal agencies
  • Is responsible for the shipping of test materials, study samples, reports, data and equipment,
    • Be responsible for making sure all transportation regulations are followed when necessary.
    • Maintain an up-to-date DOT certification for shipment of hazardous materials.
    • Maintain an up-to-date IATA certification for shipment of dangerous goods.
    • Maintain an organized copy of all shipping records for the minimum of three years.
    • Notify appropriate personnel regarding shipment status and tracking information.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications

  • College degree or high school diploma with relevant experience.
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good customer service
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00pm, with overtime as needed.Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Easton, MD are encouraged to apply.
