Introduction

This is a great opportunity to join our Shell Energy UK Customer Operations Team as an Operations Support Administrator, supporting our business’ aim to be a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, partnering with our B2B customers on their journey towards carbon neutrality and serving 5-10% of the UK B2B energy market by 2030.

Where you fit in

At Shell Energy, we believe there’s a better way to power your business. Aligned with Shell’s vision to become the world’s leading integrated energy company and to be net zero by 2050, we are here to guide businesses to a better energy future.

We offer businesses across Britain 100% renewable electricity as standard. Our cleaner, affordable and simple solutions help companies manage their energy spend and plan their sustainability roadmap – a fresh approach for environmentally conscious businesses that are looking to boost their sustainability credentials. We also offer natural gas to our customers with the option of supplying green gas on request.

What’s the role?

The Operations Support role provides essential administrative and customer support to UK‑based operational teams. The role is key to ensuring that core operational processes are supported efficiently, enabling the business to meet service standards and operational outcomes.

You will be responsible for proactively engaging customers and internal stakeholders to obtain, validate and process critical information, supporting the smooth running of day‑to‑day operations across the UK business. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a high‑volume, fast‑moving B2B environment, contributing to service excellence and continuous improvement.

Main accountabilities:

  • Provide day‑to‑day operational and administrative support to UK Customer Operations teams, ensuring activities are processed accurately and within agreed service levels.
  • Proactively engage with customers and internal stakeholders using appropriate communication channels to support operational processes and information requirements.
  • Take ownership of assigned work, ensuring customer and operational queries are followed through to resolution in line with defined procedures and SLAs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates across operating systems, supporting effective hand‑offs and end‑to‑end process delivery.
  • Support the reduction of operational exceptions, rework and delays through a strong attention to detail and first‑time‑right mindset.
  • Support continuous improvement across operations through identifying opportunities to improve processes / ways of working.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the team and company’s goals by demonstrating flexibility, professionalism and a customer-focused approach at all times.

What we need from you?

We are seeking a proactive, organised and detail‑focused individual who is passionate about supporting operational delivery. You will be comfortable working to deadlines, managing multiple priorities and ensuring information is handled accurately and efficiently to support UK‑based operational teams.

You will be confident communicating with customers and internal stakeholders across a range of channels, using a clear, professional and customer‑focused approach. As a self‑starter, you will be able to work independently while taking ownership of your work and escalating issues appropriately.

Experience working within an operational, administrative or customer support environment is important, along with a strong understanding of working within defined processes and service level agreements. You will be comfortable working with systems and data, ensuring records are maintained accurately to support end‑to‑end operational processes.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Confidence working with systems and data, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working in a customer operation, administrative or support role is desirable.
  • Fluent English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally.
  • Experience working as part of a cross‑geography support model is advantageous but not essential.

Role Development

There is opportunity to grow in the role, in terms of taking on new responsibilities as well as progressing into management positions as the team grows in SBO Manila.
