Job Description

Crane Worldwide Logistics is a leader in supply chain solutions with over 130 locations across 30 countries providing individual services that address our client's logistics challenges.

The Outbound Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day outbound warehouse operations within a contract logistics e-commerce facility. The role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant order fulfilment while meeting agreed client SLAs, productivity KPIs, safety standards, and quality requirements.

The Supervisor provides operational leadership to outbound teams, acts as the primary escalation point for outbound execution issues, and works closely with the Operations Manager, Customer Service Manager and cross-functional teams to maintain service excellence for key clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Outbound Operations & Performance

  • Supervise all outbound activities including order picking, heat press, packing, staging, dispatch, and carrier handover.
  • Ensure operational performance targets are met in accordance with company standards and established operational routines.
  • Plan and coordinate daily and weekly outbound workloads, aligning staffing and resources with forecasted volumes.
  • Monitor productivity, accuracy, and service levels to ensure SLA compliance.

People Supervision & Workforce Management

  • Supervise outbound employees, including task allocation, attendance monitoring, and shift coordination.
  • Monitor employee performance against defined goals and operational standards.
  • Address performance issues, conduct coaching conversations, and manage day-to-day discipline and conflict resolution in line with company policy.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of outbound staff.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce compliance with company policies, client SOPs, and site health & safety requirements.
  • Ensure outbound processes meet quality standards and audit requirements.
  • Investigate outbound errors, delays, or service failures and implement corrective actions.

Cross-Functional & Client Coordination

  • Coordinate outbound activities with inbound, inventory, transport, and customer service teams.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding outbound performance and issues.
  • Respond to and resolve production problems with minimal disruption to client service.

Continuous Improvement & Planning

  • Identify process inefficiencies and actively contribute improvement ideas.
  • Support the Operations Manager with planning activities and operational input into budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist with implementation of new processes, systems, or client requirements.

Physical requirements

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
  • Sitting for extended periods of time

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES

Skills & Experience

  • Experience supervising outbound operations in a warehouse or contract logistics environment, ideally e-commerce, preferably with VAS experience.
  • Strong understanding of outbound fulfilment workflows and SLA-driven operations.
  • Experience supervising operational teams.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, volume-driven environment.
  • Ability to work in a multi shift

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • Four years industry experience required
  • Two years supervisory required
