Education / Training and Job-related experience requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (3-year degree / diploma / NQF Level 6), in technical or business management or equivalent
  • 4 to 6 years’ experience in a similar position

Knowledge requirements:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique to best position the division / branch
  • Knowledge of and insight into local and global industry dynamics and associated value propositions
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, e.g. customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, precedents and government processes that impact the company’s and clients’ industries and business operations.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labour relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products and / or services; knowledge of marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques and sales control systems
  • Knowledge of mathematics, statistical principles, and their application
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data (compilation of budgets, balance sheets, income statements, forecasts, etc.)

Profile

To perform this job successfully, the appointed individual must be able to perform each essential duty / key performance area satisfactorily. This list of key performance areas is not exhaustive and may be changed / supplemented to accommodate business needs from time to time:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Overseeing the operational, financial, governance and ensure strategic objectives and branch probability is achieved with support from the PE Management Team
  • Asset management and maintenance thereof
  • All personnel and related functions with support from the PE Management Team
  • Overall administration of the George Branch
  • Effective leadership to ensure the staff functions as an effective, efficient and committed team in line with targets and values

Branch:

  • Ensure clear and timely reports as and when required by the GM and PE Management Team
  • Ensure the George team follow all system and procedural processes as per our SOP’s, PACI, ISO and ASEC requirements

Financial

  • Ensure adequate financial internal controls are in place and adhered to as per overall Company requirements
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reports monthly and as and when required
  • Ensure the branch assets are managed according to set objectives
  • Ensure that all budgets and financial forecasts are achieved
  • Critical examination of information for accuracy

Rental

  • Ensure that all processes are strictly adhered to in relation to STR fleet with the support from Commercial Manager and Team
  • Ensure that Sales and GP targets are met, rental fleet utilization is as per set targets, growth of STR rental fleet, maintenance of STR fleet as per service & load test schedules, that quality of maintenance and costs correspond in line with budget, ensure invoicing takes place within agreed time frames and STR stock counts are done as per company policy.

Parts:

  • With the support of the Regional Parts Manager, ensure that sales and GP targets are met, stock availability is as per set targets, parts obsolescence is controlled and ensure that parts inventories / perpetual stock counts are done as per company policy.
  • Effective management of Aftermarket Representative to ensure targets are met, visibility in the market and growth of market share in all departments.

Service and Maintenance

  • Ensure work in progress, service scheduling and load testing is managed in line with company policies.
  • Profitability of maintenance contracts are managed in line with company policy and warranty claims processing is in line with set regulations and submitted for processing timeously.
  • Manage Technician Labour Recovery and achieve monthly targets as per set budgets with support from PE Maintenance Manager.

Debtors

  • Assist PE Debtors team with any Debtors disputes as and when required

Creditors

  • Support PE Creditors Team by ensuring accurate and timeous receipt and verification of invoices, and assisting with any Creditors disputes as and when required
