What You Will Do:

Stryker is hiring an Operations Supervisor, Manufacturing (2nd Shift) to support our Peripheral Vascular (PV) business in Irvine, California. This onsite leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant production of medical devices. The Operations Supervisor will lead a team of manufacturing associates, drive operational excellence through Lean principles and continuous improvement, and partner cross-functionally to deliver quality, service, cost, and productivity objectives. This role also supports capacity planning, talent development, new product introductions, and business growth initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead and oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, compliance, productivity, yield, and cost objectives are achieved.
  • Foster a Quality First culture by ensuring adherence to Stryker quality standards, GMP, Quality System requirements, validated manufacturing processes, and accurate production documentation.
  • Manage production capacity through workforce planning, equipment utilization, and collaboration with Planning and cross-functional partners to meet customer demand and production schedules.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and traceability of components, subassemblies, and finished goods.
  • Lead, develop, and manage team performance through recruiting, hiring, coaching, performance management, and employee development while fostering a respectful, collaborative, and engaging work environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies to improve quality, increase capacity, reduce waste, improve efficiency, and optimize space utilization.
  • Ensure manufacturing equipment, tools, fixtures, gauges, and measurement systems are effectively utilized, maintained, and calibrated.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Materials, Equipment Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and achieve business objectives.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and support compliance-related activities.
  • Provide input into annual budgeting processes and manage budget execution for the assigned area.
  • Support business growth initiatives, including manufacturing transfers, new product introductions, and operational readiness activities.
  • Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.

What you need:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline.
  • 4+ years' experience in business, operations, or manufacturing, preferably in medical device or other highly regulated industry.

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge & understanding of general Quality System & ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Working knowledge and understanding the overall business process from material receiving to finish goods shipping.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Must have the ability to communicate and understand technical terminology.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have the ability to resolve daily production problems.
  • 3+ years' experience in a supervisory role.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience.
  • System experience such as NetSuite, SAP, MES.

United States of America Pay Ranges:

  • $102,700 - $171,100 USD Annual
