Job Description

AFL is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to support our growing Data Center Operations team. This role provides direct oversight of operational activities, workforce coordination, reporting, resource planning, and project support for multiple data center construction and infrastructure projects. The Operations Supervisor serves as a key leader within the organization, working closely with Operations Managers, Construction Managers, and project leadership to ensure the efficient execution of daily operations, workforce productivity, customer deliverables, and project performance.

The Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, supporting field teams, managing project resources, and ensuring that customer requirements, safety standards, and operational objectives are achieved.

THIS IS A NIGHT SHIFT POSITION - 6 PM to 6 AM M - F

Responsibilities

Operations Leadership & Performance Management

  • Supervise daily operational activities across assigned projects and job sites.
  • Support Operations Managers in achieving production, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Provide leadership and support to field personnel and project teams.

Operational Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
  • Track project performance metrics and operational indicators.
  • Analyze project data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Present operational updates and reports to leadership and customers.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy and consistency across projects.

Workforce Supervision & Resource Planning

  • Oversee workforce utilization, labor productivity, and staffing requirements.
  • Assist with manpower forecasting and workforce planning.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, badging, training, and site access requirements.
  • Monitor labor reporting and timekeeping activities.
  • Support employee development, coaching, and accountability initiatives.

Project Coordination & Schedule Management

  • Coordinate resources and activities across multiple projects.
  • Support project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Assist project leadership with planning and execution strategies.
  • Communicate schedule changes, manpower needs, and operational priorities to stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between field operations and project objectives.

Material & Equipment Management

  • Oversee material delivery schedules and inventory requirements.
  • Coordinate equipment assignments, rentals, maintenance, and returns.
  • Address material shortages and equipment-related issues.
  • Monitor project asset utilization and accountability.
  • Support logistics planning for operational efficiency.

Customer Relations & Compliance

  • Ensure customer-required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain organized project records and audit-ready documentation.
  • Support compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and customer expectations.
  • Participate in customer meetings and provide operational updates.
  • Monitor project closeout documentation and reporting requirements.

Subcontractor Coordination

  • Support oversight of subcontractor performance and production activities.
  • Review subcontractor reports, certifications, and required documentation.
  • Assist with invoice validation and production reconciliation.
  • Coordinate communications between subcontractors and project teams.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with project standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Project Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations supervision, construction management, telecommunications, data center operations, infrastructure projects, or a related industry.
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with operational reporting, dashboards, workforce planning, and performance tracking.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting construction, data center, or infrastructure projects preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Project Management, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Experience working within hyperscale data center environments.
  • Knowledge of workforce management systems and project scheduling tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP, project management, and reporting software platforms.
  • Understanding construction operations, logistics, and material management processes.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.

  • This is an on-site position with travel requirements based on project location and business needs.
