The Operations Supervisor, under the general direction of the Resource Recovery Center Deputy Director, is responsible for supervision of the Muskegon County Resource Recovery Center’s Operations divisions. This involves supervising the Irrigation Operators and Collection System Operators and overseeing irrigation pumping and distribution systems, the Rapid Infiltration treatment system and other pumping stations impacting the management of groundwater migration on the Resource Recovery Center site, treatment cell aeration, bar screen operation, dike integrity and flow monitoring. The Operations Supervisor assists RRC Deputy Director as needed and performs other related duties as assigned.
An employee in this class performs generally sedentary work activity requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less.
The Operations Supervisor generally performs work activities inside various facility buildings and may work outside on the grounds associated with the treatment facility. Travel throughout Muskegon County may be required.

The selected candidate must take a post-offer medical examination (including back screen and complete physical) and drug screening test given by a County appointed physician before the first day of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the medical examination and drug screening test. Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.

The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list from which to fill present and future vacancies in this classification in the County system.
