Overview

This position is located in Kittery, Maine.

Maintenance and Modernization has an opening for a highly motivated Operations Supervisor to support the Alteration Industrial Team (AIT).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of Manufacturing Technicians.

The candidate will be responsible for providing daily directions and technical assistance to a multi-discipline crew. The candidate will ensure work is efficiently performed and in accordance with Ship’s Drawings/ Work Procedures and Company Policies.

The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of Electrical Systems.

The candidate must be experienced in various Submarine Classes Processes, SUBSAFE, Fly-By-Wire, and DSS-SOC.

The candidate shall contribute to the improvement of site goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement as well as be responsible for the administration and execution of the manufacturing facility paper work (e.g. Work Orders, TGIs, and DFs).

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent
  • 5+ years of commercial electrical experience
  • Must have a secret clearance or above at time of application
  • The candidate must be able and willing to travel to off-sit locations for submarine maintenance and modernization work and other special projects assignments as needed. This travel time away from home could be up to one year in length.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Experience in Ship Building, Ship Repair and Manufacturing
  • Marine electrical experience
  • Fiber Optic qualification. Blown Fiber is also preferred
  • Welding, NDT, Electrical, RADCON, and QA experience in maritime environment.

Skills

  • The position requires the ability to effectively communicate orally and perform technical writing with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • The candidate may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime maybe required.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
  • The ability to use NAVSEA/ SP Ships Drawings, Technical Manuals, Ships System Manual and various other documents in the performance
  • Must understand Electrical Methods drawings IAW MIL-STD-2003
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, Cornerstone, and Microsoft Outlook are necessary for this assignment.
  • Candidate must possess strong planning and supervisory skills and must have a thorough knowledge of ship systems and equipment
