Block by Block is seeking to hire an Operations supervisor, 2nd shift, to provide oversight of our Safety Ambassador Team. We are looking for a Hands-on working manager in the field to provide coaching, mentoring, and continuous training on standard policies and procedures.
Our Ambassador programs make communities and Downtown Business Improvement Districts much friendlier, cleaner, and safer. This in turn increases the number of visitors, businesses and residents, which ultimately increases revenue and livability.
The Operation Supervisor position is the "Lead Ambassador" in charge of all aspects of our program including personnel management, equipment management and resource management, along with deployments of the team. This role works directly with our clients to not only deliver daily Ambassador services throughout the districts but also deliver continual program improvements, as well.
Professionalism: Must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism.
Shift: 2:00pm to 10:30pm days off to be determined but expect weekend work. Overtime will be required.
Salary $65,000.00 annually
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in public safety, security, hospitality security, hospitality, customer service, event operations, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory, lead, or team leadership role.
- Experienced with handling customer service issues and conflict resolution.
- Experienced in preparing reports and maintaining accurate records.
- Demonstrated ability to work evenings and holidays as operational needs require.
Education:
- AS or BS in criminal justice, public administration, hospitality management, emergency management, or related field.

Skills Preferred:
- Knowledge of emergency preparedness and crisis response procedures.
- Familiarity with hospital, healthcare or hospitality operations.
- Training and coaching experience.
- Proficient with incident management and reporting systems.
- Knowledge of customer experience best practices.
- Experience with analyzing operational metrics and implementing process improvements.
- Bi Lingual (Spanish) communication skills.
- New Hire onboarding and training.
- UKG timekeeping and reporting.
- Experience in supervising large diverse teams.
- Previous experience in access control systems, camera systems or security operations.
Qualifications
License Certifications:
- TN driver’s license in good standing.
- CPR and First Aid certifications a plus.
