Supervisor of Operations
Location: Safe Harbor, PA
General Overview:
The Supervisor of Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of the Safe Harbor, Lamokin, and Holtwood Control Rooms. The Supervisor of Operations collaborates with internal and external entities to plan and coordinate generator, transformer, and auxiliary equipment outages. This includes coordinating work activities on the Susquehanna River. The Supervisor ensures the plants operate safely, reliably, and within regulatory requirements. The Supervisor of Operations oversees the operation of the Safe Harbor Filter Water and Wastewater Facilities.
Responsibilities of the Supervisor of Operations
- Oversee the Control Room Operators and Operator Technicians at Safe Harbor, Lamokin, and Holtwood. This includes managing shift schedules to meet operational needs of each station during normal and emergency operations 24/7.
- Manage the operation of each station to ensure local operations as well as the NSCC operate the facilities safely and efficiently within regulatory requirements.
- Assign work tasks to direct reports and ensure the work is completed.
- Coordinate outage plans with external and internal entities, including, but not limited to, local operations, contractors, PPL Transmission, PECO Transmission, Amtrak Power Director, NSCC, WRMs, and Marketing teams.
- Oversee the operation of the Safe Harbor Filter Plant and Wastewater Plant. This includes ensuring the operators maintain necessary state licenses, operate the facilities within regulatory limits, and communicate any concerns to the Sr. Manager of Operations.
- Administer the Safe TK LOTO program for Safe Harbor, Lamokin, and Holtwood. This includes working with operations staff to update standards and procedures as needed.
- Develop, Review, and Approve local plant operating procedures.
- Support NERC compliance as needed by performing required testing, reporting, and procedure development or updates. This includes managing site physical access (employees and contractors) and facilitating meetings as needed with the NERC Compliance Team.
- Execute required PJM testing and reporting.
- Organize and schedule employee training as required.
- Support outside agencies and committees as needed such as PA DEP, FERC, PFBC, ICEJAMS, etc.
- Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Sr. Manager of Operations.
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Clear communication skills are required (oral, written, and electronic communication).
- Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical prints.
- Ability to use MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Ability to lead teams to accomplish tasks and goals.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Control Room Operations or Power Plant Operations.
- PA licenses for filtered water and wastewater operator are preferred.
- Knowledge of hydro station regulatory compliance.
- Experience working with PJM, NERC, and FERC is preferred.
- PA Driver’s License
Salary: $120K-$135K with a 15% target bonus
