Serving Dudley-Charlton Regional School District, Oxford Public Schools & Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School

Location: Dudley, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Range:$39,260 – $51,035 annually

About the Operations Supervisor Position

As an Operations Supervisor, you’ll help oversee the day-to-day transportation operation while supporting drivers, dispatch, maintenance, and local leadership. You’ll play an important role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transportation service for the students and communities we serve.

Operations Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and promote a safe work environment at all times.
  • Ensure drivers have the daily paperwork necessary to safely complete their routes.
  • Ensure completed charter paperwork is received by the Location Manager for processing.
  • Coordinate field trips by assigning drivers and vehicles.
  • Assist drivers with establishing and understanding route descriptions under the direction of the Location Manager.
  • Ensure drivers follow through with scheduled fueling and maintenance.
  • Observe employee safety practices and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Assist the Location Manager during driver training sessions and kick-off meetings.
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings alongside the Location Manager.
  • Interact with school officials on routine operational matters when needed.
  • Drive a school bus when operational needs require.
  • Assist dispatch during peak operational periods.
  • Help manage smaller locations under the direction of the Location Manager.
  • Ensure routes comply with state, local, and customer requirements.
  • Review employee timesheets prior to payroll submission.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in the transportation industry.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with drivers, dispatch, maintenance personnel, school district representatives, and leadership.
