Job Description

Position: Operations Supervisor

Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba

Status: Non-Exempt

of the Role

The Branch OperationsSupervisor will work closely with District and Area Operations and Sales personneland willbe responsible forthe daily operations of the branch. This will include thesupervision and managementof the Customer Service, Warehouse,Fabrication,and Field Service areas to achieve maximumefficiencyand performance goals of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Mustmaintain100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.

  • Promotes a safe work environment and engagesworkforcein projects that drive us to our journey of zero incidents.

  • Monitor,reviewand manage all Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions as required by LGG Quality process and submit QCFE’s.

  • Performs basic operations withincompanyoperating system, including all transactions related to transfer entries, sales orderentry;and inventories.

  • Manage inventory to working capital requirements and maximize turns while keeping customer delivery commitments; Ensures cycle-counting is complete, on-time andaccurate

  • Monitor pricing renewals, ensure gross margins to businessplansandmaintaincustomer contracts.  Ensure all vendor price increases are reviewed and passed on to customers where possible.  Oversee changes to major customer inspection,packagingand service programs to ensure we price products correctly for the services provided.

  • Supervises warehouse/production and customer service associates; ensure proper staffing levels aremaintained,

  • Drives accountability to CSSR metrics.

  • Monitor and manage critical KPI’s for the branch including orders shipped vs internalSLA;lost quote review and action log, inventory,pricingand lead times.  

  • Evaluate and review associate performance; support their development; encourage and motivate associates to perform at their best; provide corrective coaching and ensure accountability if performance concerns areidentified;

  • Engages both Ops and sales team to achievehigh levelsof customer satisfaction.

  • Oversee all employee training requirementstobusiness systems/procedures and products to ensure the training was properly performed and documented.

  • Conduct effective Customer Satisfaction Meetings; ensure action plans are created and complete.

  • Participate inidentifying,developingand implementing processes to absorb new business;seeksout andimplementscontinuous improvement activities across operations.

  • Monitor and respond to KPI’s to strengthen results and provide feedback on team performance.

  • Provides operational and resource support to other locations as needed.

  • Establishes production schedules and assigns jobs to production/warehouse and customer service associates

  • Assembles components, tests, inspects,identifiesand packages resale products, as needed

  • When required, processes incoming inquiries intocompanysales system.

  • Builds andmaintainsstrong internal and external relationships

  • Ensures required quality-related documentation is maintained 

  • Complies withthe employee handbook and company policies governing associate conduct

  • Perform other duties as trained and qualified for.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College degreepreferred, will consider equivalents

  • 5-8 years supervisory experience

  • Relevant industry experience preferred

  • Ability to work nights and weekends, asrequired

  • Ability to work overtime, asrequired

  • Background checks and drug screening may berequired(by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment asrequiredorpermittedby law)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position is based in a production and warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to a range of environmental conditions. These include fluctuating temperatures (both hot and cold), varying noise levels, exposure to dust, and other typical elements of an active industrial environmentReasonable accommodations are available to support individuals with disabilities in performing the essential functions of this role.

  • Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift, and carry up to 50lbsindependently on a repeated basis.Heavier items may be moved with team assistance or mechanical aid.

  • Ability to work in a stationary position for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to work at varying work-surface levels and machine operation heights.

  • Ability to move above or below workstations or retrieve items from various heights.

  • Ability tocomprehenddocuments such as safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions, inventory sheets, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to count, measure, and record data accurately.

  • Ability to respond to safety signals, alarms, and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to inspect products and materials to detect imperfections, defects, or irregularities and ensure quality and compliance.

  • Ability toproperly and safely use mechanical equipment and tools, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery (training and certification may be required)

  • Ability to enter and exit a service vehicle and other mechanical equipment multiple times per day. 

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, or hard hats, depending on task or site conditions.
