Working directly with the Department of Defense, Hermeus delivers capabilities that will ensure that our nation, and our allies, maintain an asymmetric advantage over any and all potential adversaries.
We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead all logistics execution in a fast-paced, hardware-focused startup environment as we stand up a new facility. This role owns material movement through multiple new factories as we bring them online; supports development and refinement of our MES, ERP, and other digital tools; and defining and iterating on the processes we use to deliver fast planes fast – literally.  This hands-on leadership position oversees the Production Coordination and Inventory teams across all Los Angeles-area factories.

Responsibilities

  • Own all inbound and outbound logistics operations, including receiving, inspection staging, warehouse management, shipping, and internal material movement.
  • Stand up warehouse infrastructure during facility build-out, including layout design, racking strategy, bin location systems, material flow paths, and dock operations.
  • Develop and implement standard work (SOPs), visual management systems, and disciplined transaction control within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Lead and supervise logistics technicians/material handlers; set daily priorities, allocate resources, and drive accountability to safety, quality, and schedule.
  • Establish and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, reconciliation, and root cause corrective actions.
  • Implement and manage kitting, point-of-use replenishment, and production line support strategies to prevent downtime.
  • Execute domestic and international shipments, including carrier coordination, packaging standards, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, EHS, and Facilities to support production ramp and site readiness.
  • Track and improve key performance metrics (dock-to-stock time, inventory accuracy, pick accuracy, on-time shipments).
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence, safety discipline, and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or materials management within a manufacturing or hardware environment.
  • 1+ year of direct team leadership experience (lead, supervisor, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of inventory control practices, shipping/receiving operations, and warehouse best practices (FIFO, 5S, cycle counting).
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for inventory transactions and material tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to build or improve operational processes in dynamic or ambiguous environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, automotive, or high-complexity hardware manufacturing environments.
  • Prior involvement in new facility launch, warehouse relocation, or production ramp efforts.
  • Familiarity with export compliance, ITAR-controlled material handling, and/or hazmat shipping regulations.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience (Kaizen, standard work, visual controls).
  • Experience implementing warehouse management systems (WMS) or optimizing ERP workflows.
  • PIT (forklift/reach truck) certification or experience operating warehouse equipment.

Additional Skills & Requirements

  • Ability to work extended hours or weekends during critical build, ramp, or delivery milestones.
  • Ability to lift and move materials consistent with warehouse operations.
  • Willingness to work hands-on on the warehouse floor while also managing administrative responsibilities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any required security clearances or compliance credentials, if applicable.
