Job Description
The Ventura Operations team is seeking to fill an Operations Specialist position. This role will report to our Ventura asset. The base annual salary for this posted position is expected to range from $114K - $132K, with a target annual bonus of 10-20% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program. Actual salary will be determined based on individual pay factors, including education, experience level and relevant industry experience. Responsibilities:
- Leads in HSE programs such as pre-job work planning, energy control, hot work permits, industry health hazard training and behavior-based safety programs
- Coordinates complex work across facilities, processes, and teams
- Coordinates work across teams to ensure priority levels are being utilized effectively
- Coordinate regulatory tasks with engineering and leadership to ensure our wells follow state requirements
- Leads continuous improvement activities
- Collects and analyzes process/equipment data for process improvements and troubleshooting
- Solves complex problems, using RCFA's to help eliminate process failures
- High level of troubleshooting on equipment such as pumping units, AWT’s, pumps, compressors, engines, valves, and pipelines
- Ability to build training plans to increase operator acumen around the equipment above
- Queries and interprets data using computer software and systems (E-Maint, LEGO, XSPOC and Ignition)
- Plans work for self and others
- Directs the activities of others and ensures the team is working on the most value-added work
- Able to provide performance feedback
- Able to receive feedback in a positive constructive way
- Identifies best practices and drives standardization across processes
- Ability to focus/concentrate on specific task in an open-air environment
- Able to respond to incidents day or night, in all weather conditions
- Able to work in ambiguity and turn a viable product
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- Valid Class C California Driver’s License required
- Can coordinate complex work across facilities, processes, and teams.
- Ability to mentor others and seek mentorship from peers or leadership
- Understands how to conduct RCFA's to help eliminate process failures
- Is familiar with process equipment such as pumps, compressors, engines, valves, and pipelines
- Is familiar with field operating processes such as Crude Lifting & Measurement and Water Injection
- Understands the data warehouse and interprets data using computer software and systems (E-Maint, Lego, XSPOC, Tableau and Ignition)
- Able to prioritize work for self and others, help break down barriers that may arise
- Able to identify best practices and drive standardization across processes
