British American Tobacco Bangladesh has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Skills Development Manager


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct Skills Needs Assessments (SNA) to identify capability gaps and maintain role-based Skill Matrices, qualification records, and competency development plans.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor the Factory Integrated Training Calendar, ensuring alignment with business priorities and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Facilitate classroom, shopfloor, and digital learning programs to build technical, operational, compliance, leadership, and IWS capabilities.
  • Manage onboarding, induction, qualification, and capability-building programs to ensure employees achieve required competency standards.
  • Partner with Pillar Leads, Subject Matter Expert, Line Managers, and HR to develop effective learning solutions and support workforce capability development.
  • Measure training effectiveness through assessments, audits, and performance indicators, implementing improvement actions where required.
  • Support the deployment and governance of the IWS Education & Training Pillar, promoting a strong Learn-Do-Teach culture across the factory.
  • Maintain training systems, qualification trackers, and learning databases while monitoring scorecards, health checks, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare capability and training performance reports, support trainer qualification programs, and ensure audit readiness through accurate documentation.
  • Drive initiatives that reduce capability-related losses, improve operational performance, and strengthen workforce effectiveness in line with BAT's Operational Excellence and IWS standards.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Manufacturing Operations, Capability Development, Training Management, Operational Excellence, TPM, or IWS environments. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Experience in developing and managing training programs, competency frameworks, skill matrices, and qualification systems.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging learning solutions across classroom, shopfloor, and digital learning environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess capability gaps, track learning effectiveness, and translate data into actionable improvement plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital learning tools.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
