
GE Vernova Singapore Services is seeking a dynamic Operations Shift Supervisor – Rotor Repair to support its Heavy Duty Gas Turbine rotor repair operations. This role reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager within the Rotor Repair Cell.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily repair operations, ensuring Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) performance, while driving operational excellence through lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
This role requires strong leadership, technical problem-solving ability, and hands-on shop floor engagement to ensure efficient workflow, minimal downtime, and consistent compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Shift Supervision
Lead and manage night shift rotor repair operations, ensuring smooth execution of takt-based production schedules.
Supervise and coordinate a team of technicians, including manpower allocation, attendance tracking, and task assignment.
Conduct toolbox meetings and Daily Management System (DMS) reviews covering SQDC performance.
Escalate operational issues through established communication channels (e.g., Andon systems) and ensure timely resolution.
2. Operational Excellence & Lean Manufacturing
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste, reduce variability, and improve process efficiency.
Promote and sustain a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement in problem-solving activities.
3. Safety, Health & Environmental (EHS) Compliance
Ensure full compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Promote and enforce Life Saving Rules and a strong safety-first culture across the shift.
Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
Participate in Gemba walks and Layered Process Reviews (LPR) to identify and address safety gaps.
4. Quality Management
Ensure adherence to quality standards, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
Enforce standardized work practices and support compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for quality deviations.
5. Equipment & Process Management
Troubleshoot equipment and process-related issues in collaboration with Maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
Monitor equipment performance and support preventive maintenance activities.
Identify process bottlenecks and implement sustainable solutions to improve throughput.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with team lead or supervisory responsibilities.
Proven experience in heavy equipment maintenance, or similar technical operations is preferred.

Experience in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action systems.

Ability to respond promptly to operational emergencies and escalations.
