Position: Operations Shift Manager
Location:
Milton Keynes
Grade: RCS. L
Shift patterns: Monday-Friday. Day time hours (07:00-15:00)
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

DHL is looking for a driven and inspiring Operations Shift Manager to join our Digital Centre Contract in Milton Keynes. A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

  • Lead and manage all shift operations, taking full responsibility for performance, productivity, service delivery, safety, quality, and operational excellence
  • Ensure customer requirements, service level agreements, and operational KPIs are consistently achieved or exceeded, providing detailed shift analysis and performance reporting
  • Drive operational efficiency by reviewing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing best practices to maximise productivity and performance
  • Inspire, coach, and develop a team of First Line Managers (FLMs), fostering a high-performance culture focused on engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and wider DHL operations to share best practice, deliver strategic objectives, and identify opportunities for site growth and optimisation
  • Maintain the highest standards of operational accuracy and customer service, ensuring effective use of IT systems, accurate reporting, and a relentless focus on quality and compliance

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

  • Previous people management experience at First Line Manager/Shift Manager/Supervisor level, is essential
  • Experience of working within a warehousing environment
  • Excellent communications skills - Verbal and written
  • 3PL experience would be desirable
  • Demonstrable record of delivering against targets for own area of responsibility
  • Analytical skills - Running reports, sharing data
