Job Description
The Operations Scheduler provides flight line, aircrew, academic, simulator, static aircraft, and alert scheduling services. This is a customer-facing position where professionalism and tact are important. Timeliness, responsiveness, and quality in both person and products determine success.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
- Generates resource schedule as directed by Helicopter Squadron leadership, de-conflicting schedules between aircrew and aircraft.
- Performs mission-coordinating activities including flying schedule execution, aircraft tracking, documentation, and coordination with maintenance personnel.
- Aircrew proficiency metrics will be maintained as directed by squadron leadership to assist in continuation training scheduling and prioritization.
- Planning products will be built to include graphical representation of data for leadership and aircrew situational awareness.
- Coordinates with maintenance function daily to schedule aircrew to support Functional Check Flights (FCF), maintenance ground runs and operational checks.
- Monitors aircrew status for recurring training, medical, egress and periodic requirements to ensure fully qualified members are available.
- Coordinate/conduct weekly scheduling meetings to brief management on aircrew status/availability and forecast future aircrew requirements.
- Formulates and devises printed and electronic flying schedule.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
- Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- CLIMBING - Ascending or descending using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized (onto or off helicopter)
- HANDLING - Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand (required for numerous tasks.)
- EXPOSURE TO WEATHER - Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather (while conducting exterior ramp operations)
- NOISE - Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds or a pitch or level sufficient to cause marked distraction or possible hearing loss (while conducting exterior ramp operations)
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to move about both inside aircraft hangar and outside on aircraft ramp within proximity of running equipment and aircraft. Willing to travel on occasion. Perform basic ground handling duties such as towing, jacking and refuel/defuel as needed.
SKILLS AND TECHNOLOGY USED:
- Operations scheduler will operate within the Government PEX system as needed to comply with requirements of the position.
- Administrative access to PEX is preferred but is dependent on approval by the government system administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education / Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience:
- Experience in flying and maintenance schedule, crew configuration and Patriot Excalibur Scheduling Software (PEX) required.
- Required knowledge of aircrew training and flying requirements inherit in scheduling
The current CBA rate for this position is $42.78/hr.
