Position Summary

The Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA) serves as AMC's advanced analytics and decision-support expert, applying quantitative methodologies, predictive modeling, simulation techniques, and optimization strategies to complex logistics, readiness, modernization, and force structure challenges. The ORSA develops analytical products that enable senior Army leaders to evaluate alternatives, mitigate risk, improve readiness, and optimize resource allocation across the Army enterprise.

The work for this position shall be performed onsite in Huntsville, Alabama.

Contingent Upon Contract Award

Duties & Responsibilities

The essential and specific functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct advanced statistical analyses, operations research studies, predictive modeling, simulation, and optimization assessments.
  • Analyze readiness, equipping, modernization, and sustainment data to identify trends and develop recommendations.
  • Perform equipment gap analyses supporting Army modernization and rapid equipping efforts.
  • Develop analytical models supporting force structure development, logistics optimization, and resource allocation decisions.
  • Utilize Vantage, DST, R Studio, SACS, and other analytical tools to examine operational and logistics performance.
  • Design and execute quantitative studies evaluating courses of action and operational outcomes.
  • Assess operational risks, readiness impacts, and sustainment challenges using data-driven methodologies.
  • Prepare technical reports, executive briefings, decision papers, and recommendations for senior Army leadership.
  • Present analytical results to General Officers, senior executives, and strategic stakeholders.
  • Support Army studies, experimentation efforts, modernization initiatives, and strategic planning activities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to working groups, integrated planning teams, and senior decision forums.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or related quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience applying advanced analytical methods to military, logistics, readiness, or business problems.
  • Minimum five (5) years supporting Army rapid acquisition, rapid equipping, or modernization requirements.
  • Minimum five (5) years conducting equipment gap analyses and readiness assessments.
  • Experience with Vantage, DST, R Studio, SACS, statistical analysis, simulation, and predictive modeling techniques.
  • Experience supporting AMC, HQDA G-4, Army Futures Command, or Army modernization organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience briefing General Officers and SES-level leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical findings to senior leaders.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret security clearance.
