Job Description

At Electric Boat, Talent Acquisition takes a strategic, long-term approach to building the Operations leadership pipeline required to meet current and future production demands. Supporting both Groton, CT and Quonset Point, RI, this role is critical to developing and sustaining programs that prepare the next generation of deckplate leaders.

The Operations Professional Development Programs Lead is responsible for the execution, administration, and continuous improvement of key leadership development pipelines, including Operations Supervisor and Ships Supervisor Professional Development Programs, rotation programs, and other career development initiatives. This role ensures programs are structured, organized, and aligned with shipyard needs while actively driving innovation to enhance participant experience and program effectiveness.

This position serves as a key connector across Talent Acquisition, Operations, Workforce Development, and senior leadership—ensuring programs produce leaders who can deliver on safety, quality, schedule, and cost.

Program Ownership & Execution

  • Lead full lifecycle management of Operations leadership programs, including career development programs, rotation programs, and professional development pipelines
  • Own all program logistics, scheduling, tracking, and execution to ensure a seamless and high-quality participant experience
  • Maintain program structure, expectations, and deliverables to align with shipyard operational needs

Program Coordination & Administration

  • Coordinate all aspects of program participation including onboarding, rotations, training schedules, and progress tracking
  • Serve as the central point of contact for program participants, mentors, supervisors, and leadership
  • Ensure alignment of program timelines with shipyard priorities at both Groton and Quonset Point

Recruiting & Pipeline Support

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Operations to support recruiting efforts for all leadership programs, including candidate sourcing, screening coordination, and selection processes
  • Help build and maintain a strong pipeline of candidates for Desk to Deckplate programs, rotation programs, and frontline leadership roles

Workforce Development Partnership

  • Collaborate closely with Workforce Development to continuously improve training content, delivery, and scheduling
  • Identify gaps in training and partner to implement enhancements that better prepare participants for Operations leadership roles

Communication & Engagement

  • Develop and maintain a regular rotation program newsletter to highlight program updates, participant achievements, and key communications
  • Drive engagement across programs through consistent, clear communication and storytelling that reinforces program value
  • Facilitate or support meetings, briefings, and updates with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Take a proactive approach to innovating and improving all aspects of Operations leadership programs
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, participant experience, and program outcomes
  • Leverage feedback, data, and shipyard needs to evolve programs and ensure long-term success

Shipyard Integration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Regularly interact with and support all levels of shipyard leadership and support organizations
  • Maintain strong visibility within Operations to ensure programs remain aligned with deckplate realities and leadership expectations
  • Participate in meetings and engagements across departments to strengthen program integration

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience planning and executing events, workshops, or program-related engagements
  • Experience in Human Resources, Operations, Program/Project Management or a Leadership role
  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or a related field
  • Experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, workforce development, or program coordination
  • Administration of leadership development programs
  • Working knowledge of or direct experience in Operations or a manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Prior military experience is a plus
  • Experience sourcing candidates through a variety of channels, including job boards, social media, company career sites, networking events, university partnerships, and professional organizations
