Operations Preparation System Engineer

Your Tasks

The Operations Preparation System
Engineer is responsible for the overall coordination and preparation of the S/C
operations, with strong support to the Mission Architect.
The main responsibility is the
coordination of the Flight Operations Centre, ground stations for TTC and
payload data downlink, and the Science Data Centre.

This is an onsite position, located in Brno, Czech Republic.
The position is offered as a fixed-term contract for 3 years, with the
possibility of extension. We are primarily considering candidates based in
the EU or with existing eligibility to work in the EU.

The
role includes the following detailed tasks:

  • Steer, coordinate and validate Flight Control Procedures (FCPs) and timelines for routine and contingency operations in coordination S/C operations responsible subcontractor (Avionics subcontractor)
  • Author Flight Operations Manuals (FOMs) and support Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for all Satellite Subsystems
  • Steer, coordinate and validate:
  • Satellite Validation Tests (SVTs) coordination and preparation.
    • Operations products delivery schedule
    • Coordination of Software and Hardware related reviews, e.g. PDR, CDR (Satellite and Ground Segment)
  • Support validation of the operational Ground Segment
  • In close cooperation with Science Interface Engineer Coordination of the Science Data Centre development from perspective of
    • Software
    • Hardware
    • Validation
    • Operations concept
    • Accessibility
  • Operations preparation support of the Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP).
  • Routine and Contingency Flight Operations support

Your Qualifications

  • Relevant education: Completed studies in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, telecommunications, computer science or a comparable qualification
  • Professional and methodical competence: Several years of experience in spacecraft operations or system engineering; Knowledge of spacecraft operations (LEOP, routine and contingency); Experience with Flight Control Procedures (FCPs), Flight Operations Manuals (FOMs) and ICDs; Knowledge of satellite validation and testing (SVTs); Familiarity with ground segment elements (FOC, ground stations, data centres); Experience with system engineering lifecycle and reviews (PDR, CDR); Understanding of software and hardware integration and science data handling; Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
