Job Description

At ING, we believe banking should empower people to live their lives—without friction or unnecessary complexity. That’s why we focus on making things simple, helpful, and human. We’re passionate about innovation, and we pride ourselves on creating a culture where you can be yourself while delivering meaningful outcomes for customers.

We’re on the hunt for an Operations Officer to join our Account and Document Services team, where you’ll play an important role in supporting our Customer Operations function. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality processing and customer service across a range of banking activities, helping ensure our customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders experience seamless service. This is a detail-oriented role where accuracy, responsiveness, and collaboration are key to success.

This role is a 12 month secondment opportunity that can be based in Sydney or Wyong. A Wyong based candidate will be expected to travel to Sydney once per week.

What you’ll do

  • Process customer account and document requests with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring they meet quality and SLA requirements.
  • Support customer operations including account maintenance, data processing, reconciliations, and payments activities.
  • Communicate with customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve enquiries and deliver positive service outcomes.
  • Verify customer information and documentation in line with KYC, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify errors, discrepancies, or potential risks and take corrective action or escalate where appropriate.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, quality, and efficiency.

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated experience in an operational role, with exposure to account maintenance, onboarding, or customer request processing.
  • Strong understanding of how end-to-end processes work across business or customer banking operations.
  • Confidence in communicating with customers and internal stakeholders, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Experience supporting or contributing to business application processes (or similar operational workflows).
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and accountability when managing day-to-day operational tasks and priorities.

What’s in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance
  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing
  • An IMPACT day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity
