
We are seeking an Operations Manager, Waste Services to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
Perform duties in support of the Waste Management Program.
Prepare documentation to support waste management operations of waste and weapon components.
Provide support to Process Engineering through review of procedures for proper waste accumulation and processing.
Provide support to Subcontractor Construction Management through completion of characterization documents including approval of Construction Waste Management Plans.
Support subcontractor personnel in proper waste management practices.
Provide support of assessments/audits (both internal and external) of Waste Management Program.
Develop/revise procedures as needed to assure continuity of operations and provide process improvement.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Technical degree and 10 years of progressive experience in waste operations. Additional years of operations management experience may be substituted as equivalent to the technical degree.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Must be familiar with RCRA, TSCA, DOE Order 435.1, Radioactive Waste Management; DOT regulations, and related state of Tennessee requirements.
Knowledge and experience in managing personnel in various disciplines, including union craft labor.
Demonstrate an ability to manage multiple projects, within budget and on schedule, in a safe and compliant manner.
Wide range of waste management operational experience.

The NNSA's Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is the nation’s only source of enriched uranium nuclear weapon components and provides enriched uranium for the U.S. Navy as well as excels in materials science, precision manufacturing, and stores enriched uranium.
