Job Description

Job Title: Operations Manager – Waste Management & Recycling

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize end-to-end operational activities across waste management projects. The role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, quality compliance, stakeholder coordination, and achievement of collection and recycling targets while maintaining strong relationships with brand owners, recyclers, traders, and governmental entities.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Project Management

  • Manage and oversee projects, ensuring full compliance with client requirements and achievement of agreed targets.

  • Lead Dawar platform projects, designing and implementing operational modules to support efficient execution.

  • Plan and manage operations, ensuring all operational aspects are fully covered.

  • Execute and lead ad-hoc operational tasks efficiently to support business needs and expansion plans.

  • Continuously enhance operational capacity to onboard additional quantities and support growth.

Quality, Efficiency & Compliance

  • Ensure consistent quality and efficiency standards across all projects and operational teams.

  • Conduct regular on-ground audits, identify operational gaps, and implement corrective actions.

  • Ensure all teams adhere to defined quality standards, SLAs, and operational guidelines, particularly within the Dawar application.

  • Guarantee the accuracy, reliability, and completeness of system data across all projects.

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Track the project's objectives and regularly report progress to the department head, working proactively to achieve and exceed targets.

  • Provide regular updates to the department head on achievements related to all projects operational milestones.

  • Lead customer service operations to ensure high customer satisfaction levels.

Partner & Ecosystem Management

  • Onboard new recyclers and traders, ensuring smooth integration, operational readiness, and ongoing support.

  • Manage trader relationships, resolve operational issues, and ensure full onboarding and compliance.

  • Lead and manage social enhancement programs, ensuring proper execution, documentation, and impact tracking.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Ensure all operational teams meet defined quality and performance standards.

  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams to resolve pending tasks and ensure timely project completion.

  • Ensure operational incentives are processed and transferred on time according to agreed schedules.
  • Lead, manage, and develop Team Leaders and operational teams, ensuring clear role ownership, accountability, and performance alignment.

  • Set, monitor, and evaluate KPIs for Team Leaders and teams, ensuring targets are achieved in line with company and client objectives.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching and corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across all operational levels.

  • Ensure effective workforce planning, task allocation, and performance tracking to maximize productivity and efficiency.

  • Foster a performance-driven culture focused on quality, compliance, safety, and results delivery.

Data Analysis & Optimization

  • Analyze Dawar user and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement and expansion.

  • Develop and implement data-driven operational plans to improve performance and scalability.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of proven experience as an operation manager.
  • Strong background in operations management, preferably in waste management, recycling, or sustainability-driven projects. “NOT A MUST”.

  • Strong knowledge of traceability systems, compliance, and quality management frameworks.

  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into operational actions.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
