Operations Manager, Victoria - Electricity Networks O&M

UGL delivers critical infrastructure and essential services across resources, defence, transport, and the power and renewables sectors. Within UGL, our Utilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) business supports the safe and reliable operation of electricity transmission and distribution networks through long term service contracts, built on strong client relationships, commercial discipline and quality delivery.

In Victoria, our Utilities O&M business supports major electricity networks through long standing contracts with Powercor and AusNet. These contracts cover maintenance and construction services for overhead powerlines and transmission assets across metropolitan and regional Victoria.

About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Utilities O&M operations in Victoria. This is a critical leadership role with full accountability for operational performance across maintenance and construction activities, including budgets, forecasting and commercial outcomes.

You’ll lead a workforce of electricians, line workers and professional staff out of Tullamarine, with the ability to scale as the business continues to grow. The role partners closely with clients at a senior level, drives performance against contract KPIs, and stays across upcoming Enterprise Agreement developments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day to day operations across Utilities O&M contracts in Victoria, ensuring safe, timely and quality delivery.

• Own full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting and cost control.

• Provide strong leadership to a blue collar workforce across metro and regional depots.

• Oversee maintenance and construction programs for power distribution and transmission assets.

• Identify and support business growth opportunities.

About you

• Experience in a similar operations management role within electricity distribution, transmission network, or utilities.

• Proven experience leading large blue‑collar operational teams, with a strong leadership style that engages and motivates field‑based workforces.

• Demonstrated ownership of P&L, budgets and forecasting, with sound commercial and contract management capability.

• Experience delivering programs of work, managing client KPIs, and actively supporting business growth.
