Citycare Property will soon partner with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) to provide essential facilities, maintenance, and infrastructure services across camps and bases throughout Aotearoa.
Join us in the role of Defence House Operations Manager, Trentham Military Camp to support the environments that enable NZDF personnel to focus on protecting and serving New Zealand communities.
Trentham Military Camp is a tri service NZDF base in Upper Hutt near Wellington, supporting a wide range of training and operational units from the Navy, Army, and Air Force.

What You’ll Be Doing | Ngā Kawenga Takohanga
• Leading and motivating your team ensuring contract services and obligations are met and align with business strategy and values.
• Providing strategic and operational leadership across Defence House, the Reserve Bank Building, and the Wellington Health Hub, ensuring all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and presentation.
• Providing end-to-end delivery of maintenance and building services, coordination of contractors and suppliers, and oversight of compliance with all relevant legislative, health, safety, and quality requirements.
• Ensuring and monitoring compliance with NZDF Construction Health, Environment and Safety Specification (CHESS) (Vol 1 and Vol 2) and associated Health and Safety processes and policies, all applicable NZ Standards.
• Overseeing internal teams and subcontractors delivering trade, maintenance and cleaning services, ensuring completion of all Deliverables to required standards.
• Fostering strong partnerships with NZDF personnel and other stakeholders to ensure all works are well-planned, well-communicated, and delivered efficiently, supporting the seamless operation of critical government facilities.
• Reporting on operational matters and contractual delivery as requested.
What We’re Looking For| Ā Mātou e Rapu Ana:
• Extensive experience as an Operations, Delivery or Contract Manager in a complex of high-security environment coupled with proven capability in managing contract deliverables.
• Professional certification in facilities management (CFM, FMP) or Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) together with a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Extensive experience leading teams, driving operational excellence and positively managing a culture of safety.
• Strong capability in financial management, budgeting and cost control practices.
• Strong capability in proactively managing positive stakeholder relationships.
• Experience in operational risk and assurance identification along with business continuity planning and execution capability.
• Experience in auditing and incident investigation,
• Alignment with Citycare Property values.
• The legal right to work in Aotearoa, ability to pass a drug and alcohol test and willingness to consent to a Criminal Record Check
• Ability to meet NZDF specific security requirements
