Marketing & Esports Operations (“Operations”) is a transversal vertical created in support of the activities of the Rainbow Six Marketing & Esports department at Vantage Studios, in order to ensure smooth operations and execution of the decisions across the various teams of esports and marketing experts dedicated to the brand, as well as the wide network of cross functional teams and partners supporting Rainbow Six. The Operations mandate is two-fold and divided into two main areas of services: Project Management and Brand Creative Services.
As Operations Manager, R6 Esports, you report to the Director, Marketing & Esports Operations, R6 and are part of the Project Management branch of the Operations team. Your role ensures effective communication and facilitates strong collaboration:
- Between the teams of esports experts working on Rainbow Six Siege
- Between the esports teams and the marketing teams, which together with Operations, compose the R6 Marketing & Esports department of Vantage Studios
- And as importantly, between the department and key stakeholders within Ubisoft as well as externally.
You support your manager in delivering the Operations team’s mandate and contribute to the creation, implementation and monitoring of the department operating models. You listen to the needs of different parties and use such insights to design and implement solutions that will streamline processes, tools and resources. You lead the project management efforts in support of the R6 Esports activities when it makes sense.
Your role includes the following missions:
Blast Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Blast to ensure a smooth administration of the collaboration agreement for the BLAST R6 esports ecosystem.
- In collaboration with your manager and Ubisoft’s Procurement teams, oversee and monitor budget processes and tools to support the teams in reaching a more cost-effective approach.
- Collaborate with Legal and department leadership to ensure effective collaboration on co-production contract overseeing (exhibits, RACI,...)
Esports Department Operations:
- Review, analyze, and evaluate the esports teams’ processes and tools to identify and suggest ad-hoc operational improvements to streamline workflows and reduce pain points.
- Provide project management support to several strategic esports projects identified as priority assignments by your manager and the Senior Director, R6 Esports.
- Ensure the smooth deployment and maintenance of a new project management tool for all Esports teams, as part of a transition of the entire R6 Marketing & Esports department on this new tool.
- Facilitate the collaboration of the Esports teams with Procurement to ensure cost optimization whenever possible.
- Anticipate, flag and help mitigate operational concerns within the esports activity.
- Support visibility sharing and communication between Esports team members on the day to day via a set of alignment calls (Esports Leadership Call, Esports Weekly call, and other ad-hoc calls and meetings)
- Oversee documentation centralization and effective visibility sharing amongst esports teams
- On ad-hoc topics, support the esports teams in their collaboration with Tencent, our partner for esports activities in China.
- Oversee and ensure a smooth collaboration loop between the Esports teams and the Brand Creative Services.
Transversal Projects & Operations:
- Support the Director, Marketing & Esports Operations, R6 across several transversal projects such as the annual R6 Marketing and Esports Summit, an 100-pax internal event.
- When necessary, support management in their efforts to showcase the department’s activity, expertise and impact. Coordinate the preparation of internal and external materials.
- Contribute to the preparation of several internal milestones in Ubisoft’s calendar (ie: Finance internal milestones)
- Work closely with your Marketing counterpart in the team to foster collaboration and effective communication within the wider Marketing & Esports department.
- Collaborate cross functionally with stakeholders from Vantage, Publishing and HQ to identify issues and opportunities to work more efficiently.
- Build a strong collaboration with the different PMO and operation teams which are part of Ubisoft’s governance network and lead assigned cross functional projects.
- Navigate various organizational dynamics at Department and Group level to drive and oversee core initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, agility, and innovation.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in operational and project management roles
- A problem-solving mindset with a versatile skillset allowing you to cover a wide range of topics, from strategic topics to operational day-to-day tasks.
- Organizational and leadership abilities
- Excellent influencing and diplomatic skills. Capacity to drive and manage change
- A self-starter who possesses high energy and excellent presentation, communication, and analytical skills
- Strong attention to details and capable of managing multiple projects with tight deadlines
- A keen understanding of the esports industry is a plus
- Excellent English mandatory.
