Job Description
Manifest Services SA is a facility management company delivering integrated hard and soft services across some of the most demanding environments in Greece — from hospitality and healthcare to large-scale public venues and integrated urban destinations. We are currently building the team for one of the largest and most complex urban regeneration and public realm projects ever undertaken in the country: a multi-year, multi-phase landscape and park development spanning several million square meters, engineered to receive millions of visitors annually once fully operational.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Landscaping (Agriculturist) to take ownership of the horticultural and landscape operations strategy for a flagship project of exceptional scale. This is not a standard maintenance-oversight role: you will be brought in at an early, pre-mobilization stage to help shape the technical solution itself — evaluating vendor and subcontractor proposals, stress-testing costing models, and designing the monitoring frameworks that will govern landscape operations across a site of unprecedented size and ecological diversity (restored wetlands, urban forest, native vegetation corridors, ornamental and public-facing green areas, irrigation networks, and more).
You will be one of the first people on the ground, meaning your judgment on solution design, supplier evaluation, and project setup will directly shape how this operation runs for years to come.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate technical proposals and cost structures submitted by landscaping subcontractors and vendors, assessing feasibility, quality, and value for money at scale
- Design and help set up the operational framework, work procedures, and preventive/corrective maintenance schedules for landscaping services across a phased, multi-year delivery plan
- Build and implement monitoring and reporting mechanisms (KPIs, compliance tracking, CMMS-based work order systems) appropriate for a project of large and growing scope
- Lead technical assessment of irrigation systems, soil and plant health programs, and seasonal planting strategies across varied micro-climates and landscape typologies within the same site
- Participate in the mobilization and stand-up of new project operations, including staffing plans, training frameworks, and supplier onboarding
- Act as the technical point of reference for landscaping strategy in discussions with the client and other stakeholders
- Monitor sustainability, water management, and biosecurity practices across all green areas
Requirements
- University degree in Agricultural Science, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or related technical field
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience in landscaping operations, ideally including large-scale, multi-phase, or public-realm projects
- Proven experience evaluating subcontractor/vendor technical and financial proposals, and building cost models for landscaping services
- Experience setting up new projects and operational monitoring systems from scratch — not just managing an existing, steady-state operation
- Strong working knowledge of irrigation systems, plant pathology, soil management, and native/ornamental vegetation care
- Excellent written and spoken English and Greek
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, pre-operational environment with evolving specifications
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in projects governed by formal KPI/penalty frameworks and CMMS platforms
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 (Environmental) or similar sustainability management systems
- Experience with ecological restoration or biodiversity-focused landscape design
Benefits
- Gross annual salary up to €40,000 based on experience
- Company car inc. travel costs
- Laptop & mobile phone
- Private health insurance
