Operations Manager International Port/Terminal

We are seeking an experienced Ports/Terminal Operations Manager to oversee and optimize all operational activities for our international (OJA) container terminal In this role, you will be responsible for strategic planning, cost control, operational execution, and stakeholder coordination to ensure smooth port operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Planning & Budgeting: Develop annual work plans, operational budgets, and work programs to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Daily Terminal Operations Management: Monitor and oversee all loading/unloading activities, ensuring seamless workflow and adherence to operational protocols.
  • Equipment & Trucking Coordination: Ensure availability and readiness of required equipment, trucking, and supporting logistics.
  • Cost Control & Efficiency Optimization: Manage loading/unloading costs, monitor operator incentives, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
  • System Implementation & Process Enhancement: Oversee the execution of operational systems and procedures while identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Vessel & Yard Coordination: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prepare for vessel docking and cargo operations, ensuring timely readiness of equipment, trucking, and personnel.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with Pelindo to coordinate yard planning, vessel scheduling, and container stowage strategies.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Repairs: Work closely with mechanics to ensure proactive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting of operational equipment.
  • Problem Resolution & Troubleshooting: Identify and address operational challenges, implementing solutions based on industry best practices and expert recommendations.
  • Talent Development & Training: Develop and execute operator training programs, ensuring workforce capability for long-term operational success.
  • External Relations Management: Establish strong relationships with customers, Pelindo, regulatory bodies, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Consultation & Process Development: Work alongside consultants to refine operational strategies, systems, and best practices for optimized performance.
  • Procedural Review & Continuous Improvement: Regularly review operational procedures, making necessary updates to enhance efficiency and safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in international container terminal operations.
  • Strong experience in both strategic leadership and hands-on operational management within a port or terminal setting.
  • Deep knowledge of terminal planning, vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and operational cost management
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline operations, drive efficiency, and collaborate with industry stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in troubleshooting operational challenges
  • Familiarity with Pelindo regulations, port yard planning, stowage strategies, and logistics coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, ensuring smooth execution of key operational initiatives.
