The Role:

You will have the opportunity to bepart ofa very specialteam for Live Nation’snewestCanadian venue, HISTORY Ottawa.A state-of-the-artvenuewith a capacity of up to 2000hostingover 180 concerts and private events annually.If you are ready to be a part of Ottawa’s most memorable and historic shows,this role might be for you!

The Operations Manager acts as direct support to theGeneral Managerand Senior Operations Manager Workingpredominantly onthe floor during show times, this role is the main point of contact foreventstaffThe Operations Manager provides support to themanagement teamin creating and implementing departmentoperatingand strategic plans for driving continuous improvements throughout the venue leading up to, and during, show time.

Responsibilities:

  • Worksall events, as the main point contactfor event staff, and escalate issues tosenior management

  • Support day-of-event execution bymaintaininga visible presence on the floor andassistingall event staff departments as needed.

  • Coach, correct, and mentor staff as needed

  • Executesstaffschedulesfor event staff.Managingavailabilities, time offrequestsand shift changes

  • Participates in the ongoing development,communicationand implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.

  • Lead andfacilitatepre-shift meetings and communicate operational updates to staff.

  • Ensure all staff, operational tools, POS systems, and service areas are prepared and functioning prior to doors.

  • Maintainaccuratereporting, and document management systems asrequired

  • Ensuring adequate coverage in key venue areas.

  • Administer verbal warnings and write ups as needed

  • Monitor service standards, guest experience, and operational efficiency throughout events.

  • Collaborate with security and venue departments to support safe and effective event operations.

  • Help resolve guest issues or concerns in a calm andrespectfulmanner.

  • Troubleshoot POS systems, handheld devices, and operational equipment as needed.

  • Support reporting, and tip-out procedures whenrequired

  • Ensure all departments complete end-of-night closing duties and venue standards aremaintainedbefore departure.

  • Otherduties asassigned by senior management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Must be Smart Serve Certified and at least 19 years of age or older.

  • At least2years of experience in a similarmanagement role.

  • Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal,writtenand interpersonal communication skills

  • French, verbal and written an asset.

  • Acutesenseof judgment,tactand diplomacy

  • A strong senseof teamwork andabilityto execute programs

  • Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs,liftingand carrying 50 lbs.+ and occasional sitting

  • Availbaleto work weekends, evenings, Holidays.

The expected compensation for this position in Ontariois:  $30 per hour.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks throughout the day; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
