Your Role:

The Operations Manager - Global Payments is a critical leadership role responsible for managing and optimizing the Accounts Payable (AP) Payment Process on a global scale. The role ensures efficient, accurate, and compliant execution of payment processes and expense management while driving operational excellence and enhancing employee satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will lead a global team, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and implement best practices to deliver high-quality financial operations and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Payment Process:

  • Oversee the end-to-end global AP payment process, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of payments to vendors and employees.
  • Manage multiple payment methods (e.g., wire transfers, ACH, checks) across various currencies and geographies.
  • Monitor payment cycles to meet SLAs and optimize working capital.
  • Resolve escalations related to payment discrepancies, vendor inquiries, and bank-related issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Finance, and Treasury) to align payment processes with company policies and objectives.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor a global team responsible for payments operations, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for team members.
  • Provide coaching and career development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

Process Optimization and Continuous improvement:

  • Identify and implement best practices to streamline payment workflows, reducing cycle times and enhancing accuracy.
  • Leverage Lean principles and process improvement methodologies to address inefficiencies and eliminate waste.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to deploy automation solutions, such as expense management software or payment platforms.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls in payment.
  • Conduct periodic audits and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and enhance process integrity.
  • Monitor fraud prevention measures in payment operations.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:

  • Define and track KPIs for payment accuracy, processing times, expense compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards for senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Use data analytics to drive decision-making and measure the impact of process enhancements.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners regarding payment.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Treasury, IT, and HR teams to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
  • Build strong vendor and service provider relationships to resolve issues and negotiate service improvements.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • More than 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, specializing in Payments Management, with at least 5years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing global operations and implementing process improvements.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)

  • Expertise in global payment processes, multi-currency transactions, and expense management systems.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and KPI management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
