Operations Manager (Diagnostic Centre)

Location: Utako Phase 2, Abuja
Industry: Healthcare
Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: ₦400,000 – ₦600,000 Monthly

The Operations Manager is responsible for the hands-on daily management and coordination of all facility operations, ensuring efficient delivery of diagnostic imaging, outpatient clinic services, and support functions.

This is a highly operational role requiring constant on-site presence, real-time decision-making, and direct coordination of staff, patients, equipment, and resources to ensure seamless service delivery.

The role works closely with the Accounts & Revenue Officer to ensure strong alignment between operational efficiency and financial performance

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Facility Operations


  • Take full responsibility for the daily running of the diagnostic centre

  • Maintain an active presence across imaging, outpatient clinics, and reception

  • Identify and resolve operational issues affecting patient flow and service delivery

  • Coordinate all departments to ensure seamless operations

2. Patient Flow & Experience


  • Oversee the full patient journey from arrival to discharge

  • Reduce waiting times and manage scheduling disruptions in real time

  • Resolve patient complaints and service delays promptly

  • Ensure a professional, efficient, and patient-centred environment

3. Diagnostic Imaging Operations


  • Monitor and optimize daily imaging schedules

  • Ensure imaging rooms, equipment, and staff are fully operational

  • Manage urgent cases and resolve workflow bottlenecks

  • Maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and service quality

4. Outpatient Clinics Coordination


  • Ensure clinics run on time with proper staffing and coordination

  • Manage scheduling conflicts, room allocation, and patient flow

  • Support clinicians by removing operational barriers

  • Monitor clinic efficiency and utilisation daily

5. Facilities & Maintenance


  • Conduct regular facility inspections

  • Identify and escalate maintenance issues promptly

  • Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance with vendors

  • Ensure uninterrupted operation of critical utilities (power, water, HVAC)

6. Team Supervision


  • Supervise front desk, administrative, and support staff

  • Provide daily guidance, task allocation, and performance monitoring

  • Manage shift coverage and staffing gaps

  • Enforce workplace discipline, service standards, and professionalism

7. Vendor & Supply Management


  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers

  • Ensure timely availability of consumables and operational supplies

  • Monitor vendor performance and escalate issues when necessary

8. Financial Coordination


  • Collaborate closely with the Accounts & Revenue Officer

  • Ensure all services are properly captured and billed

  • Support enforcement of billing compliance at operational level

  • Monitor daily revenue performance and operational efficiency alignment

9. Compliance & Safety


  • Ensure adherence to operational, safety, and regulatory standards

  • Enforce infection prevention and control protocols

  • Maintain readiness for internal and external audits

10. Performance Monitoring & Improvement


  • Track daily operational KPIs (patient volumes, delays, equipment uptime)

  • Identify inefficiencies and implement immediate corrective actions

  • Continuously improve workflows and service delivery processes

Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or related field

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in operations or facility management

  • Prior experience in a healthcare, diagnostic, or hospital environment is highly preferred

  • Proven ability to manage teams in a fast-paced operational setting
  • MBA is an added advantage
