Job Description

Due to an internal promotion, we're looking for a dynamic, hands-on Operations Manager to join our Auckland Commercial Collections team based in East Tamaki, Auckland.

This role demands a strong focus on outcomes, with accountability for delivering across the triple bottom line. Excellence in execution, attention to detail, and professionalism are essential qualities we value in our leaders. Our team’s strength lies in our people - they are the driving force behind our success. This role will:

  • Manage operational service delivery through the application of efficient management practices including the appropriate use of labour and equipment resources
  • Lead, develop and support team to meet business objectives and undertake effective customer relationships, as required.
  • Ensure operational and administrative processes are conducted in compliance with business practice (eg conducting equipment checks; completion of payroll records; undertaking day to day safety activities.)
  • Ensure site equipment is maintained and operated appropriately so as to perform the work required by customers, and advise Manager of equipment needs to provide effective service delivery.
  • Investigate report and manage vehicle incidents/accidents, property damage and personal injury within the workplace.

Qualifications

As an ideal candidate you will have:

  • Experience within the waste, transport or logistic industry is essential.
  • 3+ years of experience in managing operational departments, with a focus on safety and performance.
  • Results driven, detail oriented with a strong customer service focus.
  • Excellent time management with strong negotiation skills.
  • Valid Full New Zealand driver’s licence.
