Fuse Energy is an energy startup on a mission to make energy abundant and affordable, fast. We combine first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system.

We've raised over $200M from top-tier investors including Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, 20VC, Hummingbird and Collaborative Fund, alongside strategic angels including Nico Rosberg and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber.

We're building a fully integrated energy company: developing our own solar, batteries and other generation projects, building our own hardware, improving and developing grid infrastructure, trading power in real time, using AI across the business, and installing distributed energy in homes. By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.

This isn't a traditional operations role. We're launching an entirely new business unit in Australia and you'll be one of the people building it from the ground up in Melbourne. There's no playbook. You'll be a Swiss army knife, taking on whatever needs doing to get the business live and scaling.

The pace is fast and the role is demanding. In return you'll get huge ownership, direct exposure to leadership and the chance to shape how Fuse operates in a brand new market.

Responsibilities

• Set up core operations for the new Australian business unit, from processes to systems and vendors
• Own critical launch workstreams end to end and drive them to completion with minimal direction
• Build the operating rhythm, reporting and KPIs that keep the business running smoothly
• Work across commercial, regulatory, finance, people and customer functions as priorities shift
• Identify bottlenecks quickly and fix them, whether that means building a process or rolling up sleeves
• Manage relationships with partners, suppliers and stakeholders across the Australian market
• Act as the link between the Australian team and Fuse's global leadership in London
• Use data and AI tools to make better decisions and remove manual work wherever possible

Requirements

• 1 to 10 years of experience in a demanding environment
• Strong academic record from a top university
• Evidence of hard work and high standards, such as investment banking, consulting or high growth tech
• Exceptionally driven and high agency, with a track record of making things happen
• Very sharp problem solver who can break down messy, ambiguous challenges
• Comfortable operating without structure and building it as you go
• Clear communicator who can work with stakeholders at every level
