Job Description

Red Gum BBQ | Seaford, VIC | Full-Time

You might know Red Gum BBQ for our iconic restaurant in Red Hill but tucked away in Seaford, you’ll find another side of Red Gum.

Our Seaford site is home to Pitstop, our quick service restaurant (QSR), alongside our growing food production and warehouse operation.

After recently securing a pretty epic opportunity with a major national retailer, things have cranked up a few gears and we’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of the site and help us through this next stage of growth.

This is a broad, hands-on leadership role with genuine accountability across people, operations and profitability.

The Role

You’ll lead the day-to-day operation of our Seaford site, including:

  • Production planning and delivery across retail and wholesale orders
  • Pitstop operations, food quality, service and customer experience
  • Leadership and development of our chefs, production, warehouse and Pitstop teams
  • Rostering, workforce planning and labour management
  • Site financial performance including sales, COGS, labour, margins, waste and profitability
  • Stock, purchasing, warehousing, logistics and dispatch
  • Food safety, HACCP, quality and WHS compliance
  • Equipment, maintenance and site organisation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and grow the operation

Who We’re Looking For

  • You might currently be an Operations Manager, Site Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Food Production Manager ready for broader responsibility.
  • Your background could be in food manufacturing, FMCG, food production or QSR. More important than your current title is your ability to lead people, understand the numbers and take ownership of an operation from end to end.
  • You’ll be commercially minded, organised and confident making decisions. You’ll understand production, labour and operational performance, but you’ll also be a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor with your team.

Why Red Gum BBQ?

  • This isn't a role managing just one function.
  • You’ll have responsibility across food manufacturing, QSR, warehousing, logistics, people and commercial performance — with the autonomy to improve how things work and help shape the future of our growing Seaford operation.
  • If you’re looking for a role with variety, ownership and plenty of opportunity to make an impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Sound Like You?

We’d love to hear from you.

Tell us about the operations you’ve led, the teams you’ve built and why the opportunity to lead Red Gum BBQ’s growing Seaford operation sounds like your kind of role.
