WILHELMSEN PORT SERVICES

OPERATIONS MANAGER, VIETNAM

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage and provide support to the operations department in handling vessel operations.
• Ensure that Wilhelmsen Operations employees receive all relevant incoming/outgoing communication and take appropriate actions.
• Respond to ship owners/ ship masters and principals’ inquiries such as port information, port restriction/ PDA and give quotation for crew change/ ship repairing/ provision stores supply, BA chart or others etc.
• Ensure smooth co-ordination between WPS Operations Executives and shippers/ consignees/ terminals/ stevedores.
• Ensures WPS Operations Executives applies Customs/ Immigration, Quarantine, harbor P.A.T, pilot formalities and conforms to all local regulatory standards.
• Arrange berth/ report discharging or loading cargo or other related things such as vessel’s damage, cargo damage etc. to principal while vessel’s stay in port/ service as per master required.
• Check and approve all bills, including sub-agent's D/A before they are processed by Finance Dept. Train and supervise direct reports.
• Attends to ad hoc assignments as directed by General Manager.
• Maintain good relations with customers, charterers, other agents and authorities.
• Maintain financial reports for Ship Agency and prepare report on operations.
• Assure compliance with company’s operational policy, ensure effective control of operational costs.
• Ensure clients’ requirements & KPIs are met.
• Internally - Maintain working relations with staff of WPS’s other departments to ensure service levels are maintained.
• Externally - Maintain working relations with clients and service providers to ensure service levels are maintained.

Qualifications:

• Diploma/ Degree, preferably in shipping operations.
• Managerial experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of shipping and vessel operations, management.

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able/ willing to work odd hours including weekends/ public holidays.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to write and converse in English.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
