Sharp in Belgium (Hamont-Achel) is responsible for assembling, labeling and packaging pre-filled syringes, injection pens and vials. The site's strength comes from its rich history of technology and evolution to design, develop and implement new high-quality packaging activities. With our extensive experience in pharmaceutical contract packaging services, including packaging design, serialization, QP market release and artwork services, we provide our customers with solutions to support their complex packaging needs. Responsible for delivering stable, compliant and high-performing production and technical operations, leading the organization towards a more structured, scalable and future-ready operating model.

To strengthen our team, we are recruiting for an Operations Manager.

Position

  • Ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient execution of daily production activities

  • Deliver consistent output aligned with customer priorities and planning requirements

  • Safeguard uptime and availability of production capacity (equipment, workforce, training)

  • Drive planning adherence and resource optimization across production

  • Ensure effective management of production equipment, including maintenance, calibration, technical performance and compliance with data integrity and audit trail requirements, through a structured and reliable technical organization

  • Act as a strong role model for GMP standards and patient safety awareness

  • Take ownership for decision-making in production with patient safety as the first priority

  • Support audits by clearly explaining and defending operational processes and practices

  • Lead the transformation of production processes towards a more structured and scalable model

  • Implement performance management systems, KPIs and control mechanisms to ensure operational stability

  • Monitor operational performance, identify trends and proactively drive corrective and preventive actions

  • Identify structural inefficiencies and drive cross-functional improvements

  • Reduce variability and increase predictability in a demand-driven (service-based) environment

  • Actively drive and support the implementation, onboarding and scaling of new products and processes within operations, taking ownership to ensure successful adoption and avoiding a passive “handover” mindset.

  • Facilitate alignment and drive decisions across departments

  • Lead complex improvement initiatives requiring multi-department collaboration

  • Ensure that changes are effectively implemented and sustained

  • Build a high-performing production organization capable of managing day-to-day operations autonomously

  • Coach and develop team members to increase ownership, competence, and accountability

  • Create clarity, focus, and structure in a complex and dynamic environment

  • Promote a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement

Profile

  • Master’s degree or equivalent through experience

  • Proven experience in a production leadership role within a highly regulated environment (preferably GMP)

  • Experience in a service-oriented manufacturing environment is a strong plus

  • Demonstrated experience in leading operational improvements and transformation initiatives

  • Strong analytical and process-oriented mindset

  • Ability to translate complexity into structure and actionable improvements

  • Confident in engaging with QA/QP stakeholders on content and decision-making level

  • Strong communication and influencing skills across departments

  • Balanced leadership style: decisive and performance-driven, yet able to engage and align people

  • Proven ability to lead change in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
