Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team at our Richmond VA facility. Relocation assistance will be provided within the US.

This critical position will lead, empower and enable all phases of manufacturing and assembly through high 5 performance (safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory), Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) deployment and proactive process improvement, and excellence in Sales Inventory Operations (SIOP) planning.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $113,000 - $165,000 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive Zero Incident Safety Culture and Zero Incident mindset across all areas of the facility through proactive safety related observation and ideas, structured problem solving approach to safety, and Management of Environment, Safety and Health (MESH) deployment.
  • Achieve hi-5 performance expectations for all manufacturing and production areas including Safety (TRCR, DACR), Quality (CONC, DPPM), Delivery (OTD, OTP), Cost (cost out, cost reduction), and Inventory (DOH, Carrying Cost). Achieve financial performance expectations including sales, profitability, cost out (labor, material, process) by production area.
  • Ensure execution of a proactive quality strategy through Eaton’s Quality Management System (EQMS) functional deployment, ISO 9001 adherence, countermeasure programs, and other quality processes to achieve exceptional customer quality performance.
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset in all areas of manufacturing and production through deployment and execution of Eaton’s Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) including cost out projects and objectives, proactive manufacturing engineering and improvement events, standards of work and process, structured problem solving and other Continuous Improvement executables including cost out.
  • Lead a diverse multifunctional team of manufacturing and assembly employees, production supervisors and managers, manufacturing engineers and planners through development activities, coaching, mentorship and other leadership and management methods.
  • Champion employee listening and feedback, inclusion activities, community programs, communications excellence, change management methods and other employee engagement processes to make Eaton an employer of choice.
  • Other duties as assigned

This role could be the next step in your career if you demonstrate the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in management / supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

You will set yourself apart by demonstrating some or all of the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, supply chain management, or business administration from an accredited institution preferred
  • 7+ years experience in either operations management, supply chain management, continuous improvement and/or manufacturing engineering in an Engineer to Order (ETO) manufacturing environment
  • 7+ years experience working with ERP / MRP material systems
