Analyze and resolve bottlenecks by balancing workloads across various shifts, cells, and machinery.
Account for lead-time performance and on-time delivery metrics.
Estimating & RFQ Management
Manage internal quoting for intercompany and external RFQs, establishing cost and material estimates from technical prints and historical data.
Collaborate with sales to apply value-based pricing, aiming for a 24-hour turnaround to optimize margins and conversion rates.
Maintain standardized estimating assumptions for labor, programming, and processing to ensure quote consistency with shop performance.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with quality systems and industry standards like ISO and API, working with engineering to resolve certification gaps.
Minimize scrap and rework through root-cause analysis and corrective actions for any specification or delivery failures.
Oversee shop safety and 5S protocols to maintain full compliance with EHS requirements.
Resource & Capacity Management
Align labor and machine capacity with the order book, planning overtime and staffing based on demand.
Monitor operating costs, including tooling and outside processing, against established budgets.

Embody Boulden Company values, including Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, and a Bias for Action.
Supervise and develop the production team by setting clear expectations and maintaining accountability.
Strengthen organizational resilience by cross-training operators to eliminate single points of failure.

Utilize the MRP system for shop measurement and improve data accuracy for better decision-making.
Core Competencies & Experience
Extensive background (5+ years) steering shop-floor operations or precision machining environments, with a proven ability to lead and mentor diverse production teams.
Deep technical fluency in CNC milling and turning operations; comfortable engaging directly with machinists on setup complexities and precision tolerances.
Skilled in translating technical specifications and blueprints into accurate cost estimates and labor projections for repair and fabrication projects.
A results-oriented history of managing delivery timelines and operational costs within high-variability job shop settings.
Proficiency in leveraging ERP/MRP data to drive scheduling and reporting, replacing intuition with data-backed decision-making.
A dedicated approach to formalizing standard operating procedures, successfully transitioning tribal knowledge into repeatable, documented workflows.
Comprehensive understanding of industrial safety protocols and rigorous quality management standards.

Direct experience with wear materials or specialized remanufacturing processes (such as babbitting and precision grinding) for rotating machinery.
Prior success meeting the stringent quality and regulatory demands ISO 9001.
Hands-on application of Lean methodologies, specifically in daily shop-floor management and 5S initiatives.
Formal education (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) in a technical or business discipline, or a substantial equivalent in professional shop experience.
