As a Operations Manager you would be leading team of Team Leaders & SMEs’, utilising available resource across operations, meeting planned performance and agreed service standards within budget and ensuring customers are provided with a high quality cost efficient service.
Business Function
EQ India Operations as a team carries out a range of activities in accordance with the predetermined procedure and service standards under appropriate guidance and direction. The scope of these activities will range across all Equiniti's business lines.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver services to the highest possible standard, addressing any risk issues to minimise operational losses
- Ensure that staff are appropriately trained, deployed, counselled and motivated so that their individual and collective performance meets the current and future needs of the business, actively coaching and developing all direct reports
- Monitor the team to ensure that all regulations including security measures are maintained.
- Identify, review and where appropriate implement improvements to processes in order to contribute to business efficiency goals
- When required support, plan, communicate and implement both central and locally driven changes ensuring such changes are implemented with the minimum of disruption to services
- Use the CAPA process to ensure that all adverse trends in problem occurrence and / or workflow are fully investigated and action taken to minimise the risk of re-occurrence
- Identify, plan, delegate and where appropriate manage projects ensuring these are delivered on time, within budget to specification
- Ensure that the operation unit works to support all area of our quality policy
- Ensure the operation remains compliant with all best practice standards and reporting requirements, together with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements, where appropriate implementing actions to protect Equiniti’s business at all times
- Always to undertake the duties of this role in accordance with the requirements of Equiniti’s Regulators including the FCA’s Principles for Business
- Develop and maintain relationship across Equiniti that support the delivery of business KPI’s
Competencies and Experience
- Previous experience managing reconciliation teams in a financial services or regulated operations environment is essential
- Strong background in stock and cash reconciliations, with a clear understanding of end-to-end controls, break management, ageing, escalation and resolution
- Proven experience leading Team Leaders, SMEs and operational teams, with clear accountability for delivery, controls, service standards and performance outcomes
- Demonstrable experience operating within a regulated environment, with strong awareness of governance, audit requirements, risk management and procedural compliance
- Experience overseeing books and records controls, reconciliations sign-off, exception reporting and management information to support senior stakeholder review
- Ability to assess operational risk, identify control weaknesses and drive corrective action to reduce repeat issues and improve stability
- Previous experience managing change, migrations, process improvements or new work transitions within reconciliation or financial operations teams
- Strong people leadership experience, including performance management, coaching, succession planning, training oversight and development of control-minded teams
- Confident stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior operational, risk, project and oversight partners across multiple locations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present issues, trends, root causes and actions clearly and concisely
Desired Skills and Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of reconciliation processes across stock, cash and control accounts
- Good understanding of books and records, control frameworks and operational governance within a regulated environment
- Ability to review and challenge reporting, commentary, exception trends and ageing with clear focus on risk and resolution
- Experience producing and reviewing MI, KPI and control reporting for senior stakeholders
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and reconciliation tooling used to support operational control and analysis
- Ability to lead teams through change while maintaining service, control and colleague engagement
- Strong decision-making, ownership and accountability, with the confidence to escalate material issues where needed
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across operations, oversight, project and leadership teams
