Arrowhead Talent solutions is assisting a mid-sized manufacturer in Canton OH with a search for their next Operations Manager.
The Manager of Manufacturing Operations is responsible for planning, organizing and controlling all aspects of the daily manufacturing operations of the company. This role will organize the departments to meet production schedules while maintaining safe work practices and improving workflow. The Manager of Manufacturing Operations is responsible for management of all operations activity. The focus is on strategic, tactical, short and long-term management which means total responsibility for the design, operation, and improvement of the processes and systems that create and deliver the firm's products/services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist department supervisors to create and improve processes to become more efficient.
- Manage production team with supervisors in problem solving, training, skill set and capabilities of employees, input on hiring, reviews, and pay increases, and disciplinary actions.
- Works cross-functionally to improve productivity, create processes for cost savings, higher quality product output, policies and procedures.
- Liaison between supervisors and front office staff, Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Inventory Management.
- Collaborate with managers and supervisors to create and execute the short and long-term operations plans related to workflow, equipment, and materials for the company across all product lines.
- Oversee all building and equipment maintenance and repairs, utilizing in-house resources as well as outside contractors.
- Implement, maintain and address safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
- Special projects as requested
Education, Skills, Experience and Competency Requirements:
- 10 years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Experience in welding/fabrication and assembly
- Strong leadership, conflict resolution, follow-up, organization and job completion skills needed
- Ability to influence and lead others to achieve company goals.
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing and maintaining sustainable manufacturing solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong PC, presentation and writing skills to constituents of the company including suppliers, customers and employees.
