Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for operational control and people leadership and accountability of the Moving Services household removals, storage and associated operations activities to ensure cost effective & operational targets are achieved.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• To provide strategic operational direction of Domestic and International Product in the branch and surrounding regions in order to ensure the cost effective movement of freight at the same time enhancing customer service.
• To ensure that all removals are undertaken efficiently, overview and assist International Relocations in operational requirements, meeting Company Quality standards and customer requirements.
• To arrange customer services as to the day to day operations of Domestic and International Relocations, thus ensuring timely and efficient uplift and delivery of consignments.
• To liaise with customers and employees to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Operations Department.
• To monitor the performance of contract carriers, ensuring that Allied quality standards and Company policies are adhered to and fulfilment of obligations under the Contract Carriers Agreement.
• To manage container demurrage costs ensuring efficient utilisation of equipment & resources.
• To assist the claims department to ensure customer complaints regarding damages or missing items are handled in a quick and efficient manner.
• To administer the clerical functions which relate to the Operations Department.
• To provide and maintain as far as possible a safe working environment, by maintaining plant and equipment and providing information, instruction, training and supervision that is reasonably necessary to ensure the safety of all workers and visitors on site.
