The Operations Manager is a key role within CommunityAid store leadership that supports the
District or Store Manager in partnership with front and back of store Assistant Managers.
The person in this role has the opportunity to focus on data analysis and interpretation to inform real-time adjustments to store operations to ensure on-target results, all done in alignment with our Mission, Culture, and a positive donor and customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Culture Champion – Cultivate our culture by embracing, exemplifying, endorsing and teaching CommunityAid’s 12 Core Behaviors.
Analysis and planning – Monitor and analyze key store performance indicators and data daily; applying understanding and insight to make real time adjustments for improved results. This includes:
KPI Attainment & action planning
Staffing and labor model adherence
Scheduling/Hours Allocation
Waste Analysis (informs the “ragout” process)
Production decisions
Inventory
Communication – Collaborates with Store Manager or District Manager to enable communication throughout the store. Shares and relays information to reporting manager regarding all active projects and company metrics regularly.
Collaboration – Builds and maintains healthy working relationships; partners with store management and all departments to support and achieve key business goals, initiatives, and mission.
Safety, Compliance and Regulatory Activities – Monitors and ensures successful compliance with any and all regulations and compliance programming that is required of warehouse and retail entities.
Provides leadership and management coverage when the District/Store Manager is absent.
Where reporting directly to a District Manager who has oversight of two stores, this role is also responsible for:
Making recommendations for hiring decisions as part of the interviewing and selection process (in collaboration with District/Store Manager, Assistant Managers, and Supervisors as appropriate)
Tracking and scheduling cross-training of store staff with a goal of having a minimum of 80% of staff cross-trained in retail, donation door, clothing, and a minimum of one other production area
Action plans resulting from store walks and scorecards
Educating and developing Assistant Store Managers and Supervisors in standard operating procedures and how to use data to inform decision-making for store success.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate or bachelor’s degree related to business management preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of one year of successful experience managing front (retail) and back (donations/warehouse/production) operations at CommunityAid or in a comparable retail or service-oriented business
Demonstrated experience in data analysis and interpretation
Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheets (i.e. Microsoft Excel) preferred
Effective organizational and time management skills
Experience effectively managing in a fast-paced work environment
The ability to properly handle and maintain confidential information
Flexibility with scheduling and availability to work evenings and weekends, if needed
Can read, write and speak English with proficiency
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to frequently lift and carry 21 to 35 pounds.
Ability to occasionally carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
