Job Description

Our world-class client is seeking an Operations Manager in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for managing the activities of the Manufacturing area to achieve goals related to safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery, and personnel management. The Operations Manager acts as a liaison between the production team and the plant manager, ensuring that company policies, procedures, and objectives are implemented, respected, maintained, and properly documented on the production floor. This role ensures adequate and timely support from service departments to the manufacturing floor, so production quality, quantity, and timing are not compromised, and manages information related to the critical performance indicators of the business unit.

Our client will only accept MX payroll and will give preference to local candidates.

The Operations Manager in an automotive company is responsible for overseeing and coordinating manufacturing and maintenance activities to ensure production, quality, and efficiency goals are met. This role requires solid experience in the automotive industry and demonstrated skills in continuous improvement and cost control.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Quality, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive industry as a manager, specifically in manufacturing, engineering, or maintenance.

Demonstrated Achievements: Proven track record of positively impacting business results in areas such as safety, cost, delivery, people, productivity, and growth.

Financial Skills: Experience in budget analysis and control.

Languages: Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Continuous Improvement Projects: Experience in implementing and overseeing continuous improvement projects.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO/TS standards, PFMEA analysis, and basic statistical control techniques.

Computer Skills: Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage daily manufacturing and maintenance operations, ensuring the achievement of production, quality, and safety goals.
  • Implement and oversee continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency and reduce costs, utilizing line balancing methodologies and statistical control techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/TS standards, conducting PFMEA analysis and other quality and safety-related studies.
  • Analyze and control the operations department's budget, ensuring efficient resource use.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to optimize productivity and product quality.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve production issues and improve operational processes.
  • Lead and motivate the operations team, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Effectively communicate in both English and Spanish, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.
