Operations & Logistics Intern

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Operations & Logistics Intern to join our Team in Boston. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure to the operational side of a fast-paced healthcare start-up environment, working closely with both the Operations and Logistics teams. The intern will support day-to-day operational activities related to clinical studies and device logistics, including ensuring adequate inventory levels and proper allocation of devices for upcoming studies, assisting with vendor coordination and communication, handling incoming and outgoing shipments, and supporting the assembly, inspection, and packaging of devices and materials. The role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to help ensure smooth and efficient operations across different functions of the company. This position is ideal for a student currently pursuing studies in operations, trade, commerce, or a related field, who is eager to learn, highly organized, and excited to contribute in a dynamic setting. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to speak up with ideas for improvement, enjoys taking initiative, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities:

The Intern in Operations & Logistics will have the opportunity to join Empatica’s Operations Team in Boston. This role will involve close collaboration with our Operations & Logistics Teams, allowing to gain a comprehensive understanding of our processes.

Within this position, the responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring an adequate inventory and proper allocation of devices for upcoming studies
  • Assisting in managing and maintaining relationships with vendors
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail for all products, materials, and supplies
  • Assembling, inspecting, and packaging devices as required
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

The ideal candidate is:

  • Currently in college in the Boston area, preferably studying operations, international business/trade/commerce or a related field
  • Available to work in presence in-office
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Full of excitement and not afraid to speak up when you see an improvement can be made
  • Desire to learn about many different aspects of a Start-up environment
  • Proactive self-starter with a can-do attitude towards a variety of tasks

Hourly compensation of $20/hour

The internship is expected to last approximately 3-6 months, although we are flexible depending on the candidate’s availability and academic commitments. There may also be the possibility to extend the internship beyond the initial period based on performance and business needs.
