Job Description

Accountable for project operations and programs support including standardization, quality management, document management, methods creation and maintenance, process improvement and tools for the project management function. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment. SPB2.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervisory roles that provide direct or indirect leadership for overall projects operation, including leadership for operations in which activities are centralized shared resources to execute customer projects and/or project monitoring activities.
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
  • He or she makes sure that Ethics and compliance policies are fully understood and applied within the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of working experience in High Voltage Products.
  • Proven experience in leading a portfolio of projects for a region.
  • Demonstrated professional experience working within the African region.
  • Strong strategic leadership and operational excellence.
  • Solid financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Strong stakeholder management and risk management skills.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams.
  • Strong computer skills using MS Office Software Suite.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic languages.

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and technical proficiency to actively support site outages and identify where to seek answers as issues arise.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
  • Fluent in French language.
  • PMP certification
  • Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both business and technical personnel.
  • Exhibits the ability to work effectively under pressure while taking full ownership of onsite activities.
  • Is willing to travel domestically and internationally and to work overtime when required.
  • Has experience supporting successful installations and outages.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Maintains a strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in all operational activities.
  • Shows adaptability and resilience in managing changing priorities and operational challenges.
  • Works collaboratively across teams to support operational excellence and project success
