The opportunity

As the RED OHMS Group continues to grow, our small but busy Occupational Hygiene & Hazardous Materials team is looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to lead and manage operational initiatives in alignment with our company’s strategic goals. This role, in conjunction with business unit leaders, is responsible for strategic growth, overseeing resources, projects and processes across specific functional areas and locations.

People And Capability

Key responsibilities of the position

  • Implement initiatives to increase team engagement, safety and wellbeing and build a strong value aligned culture
  • Develop and implement personal and professional development plans to enhance and improve the capability of team members
  • Implement recruitment, onboarding and induction plans and activities for new team members to ensure effective resourcing
  • Lead, coach and mentor divisional team members, and where appropriate, mentor team members from other divisions and functional teams

Operations And Tactical

  • Monitor and manage scheduling and utilisation of team to deliver service to clients
  • Implement business and service delivery process improvements
  • Implement and monitor actions to comply with, health, safety, quality, environment and employment standards

Commercial And Business Development

  • Direct and oversee the implementation of tactical and annual business plans.
  • Generate and issue bids and tenders to meet revenue, profitability and productivity targets as set in plans and budget
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team in new business, client identification and business development
  • Monitor and manage quoting, invoicing, and pipeline activities to analyse and report on team/divisional performance

To be successful in this position

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in occupational hygiene (or equivalent)
  • Diploma (or equivalent) in frontline leadership, health and safety leadership and/or project management
  • Certification in Occupational Hygiene (highly desirable)
  • Licensed Asbestos Assessor (highly desirable)
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead small teams
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide leadership and direction that aligns with company goals
  • Experience in managing and delivering projects
